In December, we were inspired by the amount of support across the queer art community and love for Queer Art Hub. We received hundreds of submissions and requests to feature the work of queer artists in our space.
Here are just a few of the great pieces of queer artwork from artists hailing across the world – Switzerland, Canada, U.K., and U.S.:
Alida Morris
The Kiss (2023)
Alida’s work is informed by her identity as a queer woman of Anglo-Canadian, Dutch, and Caribbean-Chinese heritage, and focuses on themes of identity and community. Her intention in creating art is to create images that reflect the diversity of the people around her, especially in the areas of gender expression, sexuality, and ethnic background, and uplift her community through use of pop art, fantasy, and feminist aesthetics.

A signature of Alida’s work is bright colours that glow under blacklight, using a different way of looking to reveal an alternate dimension. Powerful femmes are painted with reverence, giving the viewer a glimpse into their world. Collage and digital art elements bring texture to these hidden worlds. Through exploration of this media, Alida shows that there is always more under the surface than expected.
Ian Wilson-Pope
Zeus and Ganymede
Born in 1970 in Roehampton, SW London, I studied Art at ‘A’-Level in 1989, where I developed my love of painting. In 1997 I went to train as an opera singer. Inspired by a visit to Madrid, I returned to painting in May 2018 after 27 years, and joined local art groups in the Croydon and Surrey areas. My paintings are mainly acrylic and W&N Artisan Water-mixable oils, but watercolour, drawing and photography plays an important part in my creative processes. Inspiration comes from Classical/Norse mythology, opera and the natural landscape. I’m particularly fond of the works of El Greco, Raphael, Renaissance, Pre-Raphaelite, Impressionist/Post-Impressionist and Symbolist artists. Portraiture and figurative art forms an important part of my work.
